What

Cycle of knowledge is a charity that brings the opportunity of a world-class digital education to people who live in hard-to-reach locations. We do this in a very unique and innovative way – blending old and new technologies that allow us to overcome the challenges usually faced in these remote areas.
We believe that education is a basic human right and our vision is to help deliver education to those people in the world who might otherwise not have access to learning. We are currently working towards making our highly innovative, groundbreaking solution available in northern Namibia and southern Angola.
In rural, poverty-stricken areas, a bicycle can be a lifeline. The humble bicycle remains the most efficient form of transport ever invented by humans; it is able to run without energy and can even create electricity to be stored! We aim to use these lifelines at the core of our work.

WHY

In western countries access to education is freely available and providing your child with a good standard of education is a requirement by law. However, not everyone is as fortunate as young people here in the UK.
In sub-Saharan Africa, 30% of children drop out of school before completing a primary school education. In some countries, that figure is even higher. Can you imagine a third of primary school children from your local neighbourhood having to drop out of school to start earning a living?
Without a good level of education a person’s job prospects can be severely affected which will impact hugely on their earning potential and quality of life. Research has shown that children from families who have a historically low quality of education will find it hard to escape this cycle, going on to have families themselves where access to education is restricted. Cycle of Knowledge aims to help families break that cycle and provide a brighter future for themselves.
